Also, when choosing a material color, consider the size of your living room. A small room needs bright colors to feel spacious and less crowded. Ultimately, the material you choose should be determined by how often the chair will be used. Babies at home need more durable materials that won’t fade or get dirty.

Use the mold/nail removers to remove the foam. My chair is just a post and I can remove it by tying it to a flat headboard with screws. If the nails are there, use this tool to remove them.

Cut the foam with a very sharp serrated knife (think Infomercial knives) or a paring knife. I used a very sharp serrated kitchen knife!

Transport seat + foam on polyester wadding. Mark about 5″ outside the edge and cut.

Use the main gun to hold down, firing it as you go. Tip: It’s best to cut the edges until they have 12 stitches – so they are even. Natus Weaver 2 Piece Decor Supersoft Waffle Velvet Corduroy Decorative Throw Toss Pillowcase Check Cushion Cover For Chair, White, (40 X 40 Cm, 16 Inch)

Position the seat so it is in the tenth position, the car text is level and 4″ down.

The text for this always appears on the wrong side so I can see where to mark and cut to get the side I want for the seat. Protect lightly, trim off excess.

How To Recover A Chair Seat Cushion

First, my story: I’ve wanted rocking chairs on my front porch for years. Two weeks ago, Greg bought me two beautiful wicker chairs. Brown didn’t come to our house, so he painted me white. But the cushions are the dull beige of the chairs that came before. I’m not a beige girl. So I went to the fabric store and got a bright and cheery outdoor glow. But the site was there for a while and I didn’t do anything. Is it a familiar language?

But last night was a big day and I knew it was time to save those ugly pillows. It only took about an hour to restore the two patio cushions from start to finish. This is a very easy sewing project…and if you don’t want to sew, there are options for that. And my patio pillows aren’t exactly square. Let me show you how you can quickly and easily restore patio cushions!

First, lay the fabric on a flat surface with the pattern facing up and place the patio cushion on top. Place the patio pillow in the top corner of the fabric with the back of the pillow close to the top edge, leaving enough room on the side for the fabric to wrap around the patio pillow. If the fabric is too wide or too long, cut it now. Make sure there is plenty of fabric on both sides of the patio cushion (I left an extra three inches on each side).

Then, pull the fabric up and over the patio cushion to completely cover it. Your site will meet at the top. Leave three inches of fabric at the top and trim off the excess.

Once the fabric is on the patio cushion, close both sides. If your pillow is folded back like mine, I recommend not pinning it and pointing it in the opposite direction, like pins on each side of the fabric where you pin it (don’t close) or a fabric tag.

In the picture above, you can see that I marked the narrow tip of the pins instead of a pin.

Now slowly pull the pillow. If the patio cushion is narrow in the back like mine and you have a hard time getting it out, simply twist the patio cushion like a taco inside the fabric and you can easily remove it.

Sew each part where you pinned and remove the pins. In the image below, you can see my black stitching lines.

Next, place the patio pillow inside the fabric you made (don’t turn it right side out). Attach the extra material to each of the two corners on the front of your patio door. Pin the fabric at both corners to fit the pillow.

Remove the fabric from the pillow again and sew a line in the corner where you pinned. Remove the pins.
